Development Direction and Trend of Hydrogen Pressure Sensor
Release time:2022-02-21
Hydrogen pressure sensors: At present, electrochemical and electrical hydrogen pressure sensors occupy a high share of the market. Various electrochemical hydrogen pressure sensors have wide working temperature range, low power consumption and high sensitivity, but their electrode life is limited, and they need to provide current or voltage to the sensor during the working process, so they are not suitable for flammable and explosive places. The electric hydrogen pressure sensor has the advantages of simple structure, easy miniaturization, and easy integration, but its working temperature is high, energy consumption is increased, and electric sparks are easily generated during work, so it is not suitable for flammable and explosive places.

In the optical hydrogen sensor, the method of detecting hydrogen concentration by measuring its frequency offset is greatly affected by environmental factors, and the optical fiber hydrogen sensor has the advantages of intrinsic safety, anti-electromagnetic interference, small size, corrosion resistance, etc. Its sensor has high sensitivity and measurement accuracy, and can achieve real-time response. It is suitable for making various single-point and distributed optical fiber sensors according to different hydrogen sensing mechanisms. Therefore, the optical fiber hydrogen sensor will become the main content in the research field of hydrogen sensor. With the progress of sensor manufacturing technology and the development of signal demodulation technology, optical fiber hydrogen pressure sensor will occupy a larger market.
AlthoughHydrogen pressure sensorThey are mainly used as hydrogen energy carriers, but they also have other possible applications. Such hydrogen pressure sensors are needed by the power grid industry, chemical and nuclear industries and can also be used to improve medical diagnostics.
2) Acoustic surface wave hydrogen pressure sensor
A surface acoustic wave (SAW) is an acoustic wave that propagates along the surface of an elastomer. As the depth of the piezoelectric substrate material increases, the amplitude decreases exponentially. The hydrogen pressure sensor using this principle is usually a surface acoustic wave oscillator. Depending on the feedback element, this sensor can be divided into a delayed linear type and a resonant type. At present, the delay linear oscillator structure is mainly used.
The key component of the sensor is the selective hydrogen-sensitive membrane, which is usually made of metallic palladium. Before and after hydrogen adsorption by the hydrogen sensitive film, the optical properties of the surface acoustic wave will change. The hydrogen concentration can be detected by measuring the change in frequency.
The sensor has high measurement accuracy, but the sensitive film is easy to corrode, the service life is short, and the cost is high.
3) Photoacoustic hydrogen pressure sensor
The basic principle of photoacoustic gas sensor is based on the photoacoustic effect of gas. The photoacoustic effect of a gas can be divided into two stages:(1) light absorption: the measured gas is in an excited state after absorbing the modulated light of a specific wavelength;(2) sound generation: after absorbing the light energy, the gas molecules convert the light energy into the average kinetic energy of the molecules in the process of radiationless relaxation, so that the gas molecules are heated, and the gas temperature is modulated at the same frequency as the modulated light, this leads to a periodic variation of the gas pressure, which excites a corresponding acoustic wave in the photoacoustic cell.
For hydrogen in the infrared band that is not absorbed, the hydrogen concentration can be measured by indirect photoacoustic spectroscopy.
The photoacoustic hydrogen pressure sensor has high sensitivity and fast response, but it is greatly affected by the photoacoustic cell and temperature. When the temperature changes 0.5 74 ℃ and the hydrogen concentration changes 100ppm, the sound velocity changes the same, and the method is indirect, so the sensor is rarely used.
